Charla M Atchley Passed away on December 26th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 41. Charla is survived by her husband Roger Atchley; Children Brandon and Blake Atchley ; Mother Charlene Ballard & (husband) Kenny Ballard of Tulsa Brother Michael Romine of Tulsa Sister Ashley Going & (husband) Chris Going of Carthage, Mo Nephews & Nieces Hunter Romine, Zander Anderson, Harley Kestler, Jacob Beach, Addyson Beach, Abby Going, and Regan Going. She is preceded in death by Brother Shannon Romine, Father Shane Romine, Grandfathers Sonny Romine & Charles Duke Jr, Uncle Rusty Romine, Cousin Rodney Duke, And many other great aunts, uncles, cousins, and distant relatives. Charla Marcine Romine was born on March 14th, 1979 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Charlene & Shane Romine. She graduated from East Central High school in 1997 with National Honors, was in choir, and a Miss teen Oklahoma award winner in 1996. Charla began working for American Airlines in June 1998 where she continued her career with them for the rest of her life. She married Roger, on June 9th, 2001. The couple resided in Broken Arrow, Ok, and welcomed two boys into their home Charla set about teaching them love, respect, life skills, accountability, and most of all to have amazing adventures and make memories. Her children remember her as a strong loving mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Charla was accomplished and loved at her job! Charla's career at American Airlines consisted of 22 ½ years of dedicated service. She began her career in June of 1998 as a Maintenance Operations Control Coordinator. One year later, she moved into a new role as a System Time Control Technical Assistant. In October of 2000, her career journey took her to the role of Maintenance Operations Center Aircraft Routing Technician, where she would remain until May of 2005. She then served as a Tulsa Administration Center Representative for three months before being promoted to Supervisor of Tulsa Base Administration in August of 2005, where she would remain for the next 3 ½ years. In January of 2009, Charla would be promoted to Aircraft Overhaul Bill of Work Planner, where she would serve the airline for the next five plus years. In September of 2014, Charla was promoted to Supervisor, Bill of Work Planning, where she was continuing to serve the airline in that capacity. Throughout her dedicated career, Charla received numerous awards and accolades for her hard work and devotion but none were more prestigious than the Chairman's Award she received in 2019 for her outstanding and above & beyond efforts in association with the 737 MAX fleet grounding. This is the highest award at American Airlines for its employees. She was a loving funny dedicated individual, who loved aviation and was passionate about making memories with those she loved. Charla was an outdoor adventuress and wanted to do it all, as often as possible! She was a member of life church south Broken Arrow. Charla volunteered at Night Light Tulsa, & Something MAAgic Foundation. Celebration of life TBD at a later date. Offer CondolencePrint
