Dorothy Bales, age 86, passed away on July 6th, 2019, at her home while under the care of Hospice of Green Country. Dorothy was born June 24th, 1933, in Tahlequah, OK to Eston and Flora Jackson. She graduated from Central High School and married her high school sweetheart Bob Bales in 1950. Dorothy spent her most memorable career years working as a legal secretary, when she had to retire from her favorite employer, Gable, Gotwals, due to Multiple sclerosis. In her free time, you would invariably find her with âsomething to read' in her hands. Following that love, she tried her hand at running her own bookstore but found that it too took too much of her energy and eventually closed the doors. It just was not the same as reading a good book! Leisure time at home was spent caring for her & Bob's many different animals at their farm. As time went by, they eventually were left with only their two faithful Rottweilers. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, step-mother Irene, her sisters Pauline Lang and Rosalee Jackson, brothers-in-law Jack Bales, Wayne McClure and Jimmy Lang, sister-in-law Gerie, son Tom Bales and son-in-law Paul E. Shirley. She is survived by her sister Norlene McClure (Sunnyside, WA) , brothers Jene (CA.) and Eston, along with remaining children: Bob Bales Jr, Sharon Shirley, daughter-in-law Connie Bales, Rhonda Evans (Larry). She will also be missed by grandchildren Robert (Melinda), John, Amy, Angie, Tim (Kelley), Sean (Emma) and Ian, along with nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren. Your presence we'll miss, your memory we'll treasure!! Offer CondolencePrint
