Gena Thomas

Gena Thomas, 80, of Glenpool, Oklahoma, formerly of Russellville, Arkansas, passed from this life on Monday, August 7, 2017, at home. She was a retired administrative assistant from jobs with Morton Frozen Foods, Crawford County Hospital and the Employment Security Department of the State of Arkansas. She was a former member and Sunday school teacher at First Assembly of God in Russellville and a member of GUTS Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gena, from a young child, always enjoyed her relationship with the Lord. Her family always was the most important thing to her, second only to the Lord. She was a helper and mentor to many kids, ladies and families. She wanted everyone to prosper and thrive in the Lord. She believed what the Bible said about "if you see someone in need and have the ability to help them, then you should; not just say that you would pray for them." She was constantly giving and helping people. A private family graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, at a yet to be determined date and time. Arrangements in Glenpool were entrusted to Cremation Care Centers in Glenpool. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Thomas. She is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Rick Thomas (Veronica) of Glenpool and Reggie Thomas (Sherri) of Tulsa; a sister, Ava Bowden of Russellville; a brother, Mack Cheatham of San Leandro, California; seven grandchildren and spouses, Britni Mushrush (Ryan) of Denver, Colorado, Erin Robins (Tyler) and Grant Thomas (Maye) of Nashville, Tennessee, Brooke, Blake, Bailee and Brandon Thomas, all of Tulsa; and one great- grandchild, Caroline Mushrush of Denver.
