James Matthew Everly

January 28, 1988 — January 13, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Matthew Everly (Tulsa, Oklahoma), born in Stillwater, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 13, 2023, at the age of 34, leaving to mourn family and friends.

James Matthew Everly went by Matt by his friends and family. He was an outgoing and very much a people person, who could make you feel like you've known him your whole life in a short amount of time. Matt had a love of music and wrote lyrics for songs in his free time growing up. The biggest love in his life are his two sons, who he would refer to them as his baby boys. After every time they had to part ways, he would always tell them that "I love you more than there are stars in the sky" and the boys would repeat it back to their dad.

Matt was raised with a family first approach and he lived it. Matt might have picked on his brothers and sisters but he would be the first to defend them if it was by someone outside the family. He would often want to add more people to his family by calling friends brothers and sisters.

Matt had several troubles throughout his life before this and people would comment on his strong family support that others in his same situation did not have.

He was preceded in death by his Father Virgil Dean Everly Jr, grandparents Virgil and Luann Everly, grandparents Jerry and Marilyn Sparkman, and his uncle Chuck Sparkman.

He is survived by his mother Tracy (Sparkman) Hahn, step-father Jeff Hahn, his two sons Winston Avery and Brandon Oliver Everly, his older brother Jeremy Everly of Cushing,OK, younger brother Scott Harris of Cushing, OK, younger sister Shyanna Birzer of Ottawa, KS, younger brother Josh Everly of Wewoka, OK, older sister Jessica Corter of Tryon, OK, older brother Donnie Yandell of Texas and older sister Ashlee Haile of OKC, OK. Also survived by several Aunts, Uncles and cousins that are many in number.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 31st 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the 7th day Bible Church (712 N Richmond, Tulsa, OK 74115).
