Johnie Mae Parker, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on November 25, 2023 at the age of 78 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Johnie was born on March 3, 1945 to Johnny Burnett and Mary Taaffe-Burnett. She grew up in a loving home with her grandparents, John and Eliza Taaffe. Johnie was a kind and compassionate soul, always putting others before herself. She had a passion for helping others, which led her to pursue a career as a nurse. She dedicated her life to caring for those in need and was a source of comfort and support to all who knew her.
Johnie had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh that could light up any room. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and her home was always open to anyone in need. Johnie also had a love for cooking and baking, and her delicious meals will be dearly missed by all.
Johnie was preceded in death by her parents:Johnny Burnett and Mary Taaffe-Burnett
Brothers: Joseph Edward Burnett, Willie James Burnett
her husbands :Wilbert Carter Jr. and Troy Lee Parker Sr., and her daughter Tracy Edwina Parker.
Grandparents: John and Eliza Taaffe
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will live on through her surviving children: Wilbert Carter III, Johnny T. Carter Sr, Sheila R. Neha, Hope A. Renner, and Troy C. Parker. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Jonathan A. Lewis Sr, Keri Skinner, Willie James Raynor, Nicholas A. Valencia, KiJonna Carter, Dominique Carter-Smith, Safiya Mae Carter, Johnny T. Carter Jr, Jafar A. Carter, Tia Parker , Troy Parker Jr. ShTara Elizabeth Richard. Johnie was also blessed with a host of great grandchildren and blessed with one sister Gracie Burnett-Hill and 3 nieces Katie Walton, Gracie Robinson, and Latonya Allen (Jeffrey) who will cherish her memory forever.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Johnie's life and honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Johnie's name. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Rest in peace, Johnie Mae Parker.
