Joyce Ann (McClure) Hayes born on April 6, 1957, went home to meet her Heavenly Father's embrace surrounded by her loving family on November 3, 2018. She leaves behind her loving husband of 26 years, Brad Hayes; five adoring children: Melanie, BJ, Misty, Michelle, and Jerrod. Seven precious grandchildren: Cutter, Kinsley, Kamdyn, Rodey, Reklyn, Ranz, and Peydence. Father and mother-in-law, Jim & Shirley Hayes, brother-in-law Kressley Hayes, and wife Djuana, and close family friend Vern Rhodes. Parents Clifford & Elizabeth Frye, brother Michael McClure and wife Eydie, brother Leroy Frye and wife Michelle, Dewayne Frye, Melisa Frye, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna McClure Maycumber. Joyce taught at Vinita Public Schools for 29 years. She was an integral member of White Oak Baptist Church for many years before relocating to the Grand Lake area where she actively served at Lake Center Baptist Church. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, assisting with VBS, and making memories with her grandkids. Joyce received her Shawnee Indian name, âWe sa ke pya se', meaning strong or always trying hardest, from the Horse clan earlier this year. Her grandchildren were unbelievably blessed to have such an amazing and loving Mimi who demonstrated a great example of a Godly woman to them, and everyone else she met. Joyce was committed to her Christian faith in every way and exemplified that in her daily life. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lake Center Baptist Church near Shangri La on Monkey Island. Services will be held at Lake Center Baptist Church on Friday, November 9th at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Steve Cody Vacation Bible School Ministries.
