Lawrence Dale Osborn

Lawrence D. Osborn, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was born on April 6, 1933 in Columbus, Kansas. He attended Olney Friends Boarding School in Barnesville, Ohio where he met his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Starbuck-Osborn, who preceded him in death in December 2021. They were married in the Costa Rican community of Monteverde, which was a Quaker community that they helped to pioneer in the early 1950s. When they returned from Costa Rica, they raised their family in the Salem, Ohio area, where Lawrence was employed by Ellyson Plumbing and Heating as a plumber and carpenter. In retirement, they lived for 25 years in the Jeromesville, Ohio area. He is survived by 7 children, Donald of Purcell, Oklahoma; Roseanna of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; Robert of Salem, Ohio; William of Claremore, Oklahoma; David of Salem, Ohio; Lisa of Jeromesville, Ohio; and Heidi of Cleveland, Ohio; 29 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held for friends and family at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 30th at Sixth Street Friends Meeting in Salem, Ohio.
