Marsha Sessions Teague

After a prolonged and valiant battle with cancer, Marsha Sessions Teague, 84, graduated to Heaven to be with many pre-deceased loved ones and her Savior Jesus Christ on March 14, 2021. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Walter and Theatus Sessions, of Saginaw, TX, and Stillwater, OK, along with numerous other family members. Marsha was born in Wilson, OK, and lived in Texas and Oklahoma the majority of her life, moving to Stillwater in 1970. Marsha graduated from Northside High School in Ft. Worth, TX, then received her Bachelor of Arts with High Honors from North Carolina State University, and completed all but a few hours of her Masters in History from Oklahoma State University (OSU). In her capacity as an historian, she was also a proud and major contributor to the Will Rogers Research Project conducted at OSU. In 1971 she began a long and accomplished career as a real estate professional, which included founding Heritage Real Estate, one of the first woman owned real estate companies in Stillwater, and serving two terms as President of the Stillwater Board of Realtors (SBOR). Further, Marsha served as SBOR's Association Executive on several occasions and was awarded Honorary Lifetime Member status with over 50 years of service. Also she was one of the primary fundraisers for the Stillwater YMCA. Marsha loved cooking, family gatherings, spending time with her dogs Chomo, Shadow and Dudley, and was also an avid OSU football fan. She most recently spent time compiling and writing her memoirs, "Marsha's Journey On The Road Less Travelled," which will be printed and released in the near future. Remember Lest we not forget the voice That’s holding back the waves Was once the voice that told the skies To pour them into place Let us join the endless song of everlasting praise The only God who empties graves And oh my soul Remember who you’re talking to The only one who death bows to That’s the God who walks with you And oh my soul You know that if He did it then He can do it all again His power can still raise the dead Don’t tell me that He’s finished yet Song by Bryan & Katie Torwalt She is survived by her husband, Richard Teague, of Stillwater, her son Rick Teague and his wife Michelle of greater Nashville, TN, her daughter Becky Teague and Linda "Linnie" Flores of Stillwater, her sister Glenda Roe, of Stillwater, and her brothers Jerry Sessions of Arlington, TX, and John Sessions of Clermont, FL. Further survivors include Marsha's granddaughters Kirsti Teague Kiker, Nikki Teague Brown and Lexi Teague Stroupe, and great-grandchildren Keeli Kiker, Kannon Kiker, Kynli Kiker, Kole Kiker and Lux Stroupe, all of Columbia, TN. Of special note is that Richard and Marsha met and started dating at the age of fourteen in 1950, and were married as high school students at age seventeen in a double wedding with her sister Glenda and her husband Bobby Roe. Both Richard and Marsha, and Bobby and Glenda, each recently celebrated their mutual 66th wedding anniversaries and live across the street from each other on Hanson Street in Stillwater. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held in Stillwater on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 10 AM Central at First Baptist Church, 701 S Duncan St, Stillwater, OK 74074 (social distancing and masks preferred). Further gatherings include a brief ceremony at the north gate of the old Sessions Farm (on Dundee Rd 1.25 miles north of Highway 70, which is west of Ardmore, OK) at 4 PM and dinner at Chili's, 821 Holiday Dr, Ardmore, OK 73401 at 5 PM, both Saturday, April 10, as well as a brief ceremony at Saginaw Cemetery, Saginaw, TX (on McLeroy west of Saginaw Blvd) at 1 PM and lunch at El Sombrero, 316 S Saginaw Blvd, 76179 at 2 PM, both Sunday, April 11, 2021.
