Phyllis E. McDaniel died peacefully in Senior Suites Nursing Facility on February 25, 2020, in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 83. Phyllis is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David & Sandy McDaniel of Broken Arrow, OK and foster son Jerry Ford of Nebraska; sister Ruth and Larry Wilson of Oilton, OK, brothers John and Vickie Chambers of Oilton, OK, and Al and Paulette Chambers of Shawnee, OK; She is preceded in death by her son Steven McDaniel; grandson Cody McDaniel, father Oscar (Pat) Chambers; mother Alice (Baker) Chambers; brothers Bill Chambers, Phil Chambers, Artie Chambers and sister Lonna Rickstrew. Phyllis has 8 grandchildren Shaine, Jeremy, Ryan, Travis, Christopher, Chelsea & Adam, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Phyllis was born on March 13, 1936, in Oilton, OK to Oscar (Pat) and Alice Chambers. She graduated from Oilton High School in 1954 She married Darrell McDaniel in 1955. Phyllis was a cook and baker. She provided special occasion cakes, pies, cinnamon rolls, etc. to Oilton businesses and residents for many years along with cooking in the Oilton School cafeteria. Phyllis re-located to Alva, OK in 1976 where she owned and operated the Vista Diner for 17 years which became a city staple of home-cooked meals and desserts. She was a generous individual who loved friends, working and going to church and who was passionate about her family. She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of God in Oilton, OK for many years and The Church of Christ in Alva, OK and often volunteered and provided baked goods to both. Phyllis was best known as becoming a friend and mother to everyone that crossed paths with her and she loved her family dearly. She will be missed! Funeral service will be held March 7th, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the First Free Will Baptist Church, Oilton, OK. Offer CondolencePrint
