Reverend Wayne Edward McArthur died peacefully at home on Monday, April 13 in Broken Arrow, OK at the age of 86. Wayne is survived by the love of his life Carol, his wife of 62 years. Loving father of Wendi (Tom) Teschner, Chris (Michele) McArthur, Cara (Scott) Boss and Jenni (Eddie) McCumber. Grandfather of Joshua Teschner, Justin Teschner, Jeremy Teschner, Travis Teschner, Jessica Brady, Andrea McCullough, Kirsten Boss, Jacob McArthur, Ryan McArthur, Grant McArthur, Amanda McCumber, and Katie McCumber. Great grandfather of Kaylie Teschner, Cole Teschner, Brady Teschner, Trey Teschner, Carson Teschner, Graham Teschner, Cailyn Teschner, Taylor Teschner, Grace Teschner, Reid Teschner, and Hannah Teschner. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Rosa McArthur, baby daughter Lynn McArthur, his siblings Ray McArthur, Harold McArthur, Leta Kinzer, George McArthur, Gladys Beshoar and Dale McArthur Wayne was born on August 30 in Frankfort, IL to Carl and Rosa McArthur. He graduated from Plainfield High School and later North Central, Naperville, IL with a Masters in Divinity. He married Carol Turvey, after seeing her in the church choir and winning her heart. He started his student ministry at Lindenwood, IL followed by his first Methodist pastorate, taking on 2 churches in Lee and Paw Paw, IL. His second assignment was to plant a church in the rapidly growing village of Schaumburg, IL. The congregation started by meeting in the McArthur home, then Sunday services moved to the refurbished barn for Cook County, and finally built a church that is still in active use today. He then pastored churches in Chicago, Princeton, and Western Springs, Illinois. In 1997, he retired from the Methodist church and moved to Oklahoma. He was active in helping new churches and ministries. He took great joy in photography, using it to encourage mission work and family/church events. His life was hallmarked by his selfless love and care for his family and others.
