Rhetta Smith died in Tecumseh, OK on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the age of 80

Rhetta is survived by her husband Al of Shawnee, OK, son Dennis Jones and wife Lecia of Shawnee, OK, daughters Kellie Lee and husband Ken of Perkins, OK and Kimi VanAntwerp and husband Jim of Shawnee, stepdaughters Teresa Martin and husband James of Shawnee, OK, Sherri Straka and husband Carl of Harrah, Terri Lucy of McLoud, two brothers Larry Alexander, Guy Alexander and one sister Aletta Collins, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews Rhetta is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Marguerite Alexander, brothers Jack Alexander and Jerrold Alexander, grandson Darrell R. Jones and step daughter Julia Arthur Rhetta was born on January 3, 1939, in Shawnee, OK to Ben and Marguarite Alexander. Rhetta married Al Smith on September 20, 1965. Rhetta worked, in her early life, as a waitress at Biscut Hill and at Rib Ranch. Rhetta began working as a home health aid at Hospice of Shawnee and later at Heartland Hospice. Rhetta retired from Heartland Hospice in 2007. She loved every patient she cared for. Rhetta loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as often as possible.
