Russell D. Van Order, 77, of Chickasha, Oklahoma passed away on December 17th, 2022, in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a brief battle with cancer.
A Memorial will be planned later.
Russell was born in Allegan, Michigan to Ellis and Gladys Van Order on June 8th, 1945. He
married Karen G (Lindsey) on November 11, 1977, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He worked as an
oilfield worker and in manufacturing. He was involved in drag racing, stock car racing and
tinkering on his own projects. He received a black belt in karate at the age of 73 from TMA
CHICKASHA of Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was the happiest when he was spending time with his
family, talking about the good old days, and teaching the younger generation how to work on
cars. Russell had a close relationship with God. He was proud to be called “Pepaw” or “Peeps”!
Russell is preceded in death by both of his parents, father-in-law Louis Lindsey, daughter-in-law
Holly Van Order, brothers Paul, John, Kenneth and Ivan, sisters Laurel, Linda, and Barbara.
Russell is survived by his wife Karen of 45 years, daughters Tabitha (John) of El Reno, Shawna
(Alfredo) of Alliance, NE, sons Aaron (Rachel) of Chickasha, and Justin of Chickasha.
Grandchildren, Aaron Jr., Taylor, Jakob, Mason, Gladys, Austin, Angel, Joey, Thomas, Ann, Ellis,
and Jacob. Great-Grandchildren Jade, Danny, and Dei. Russell’s special canine best friend Molly!
Also surviving are a daughter Kristina Millner and a son Kevin Van Order. Brother Raymond
(Anna) of Zeeland, Michigan, Louise (Oakley) Kaylor of Middleville Michigan, and Evelyn (Roary)
Wark of Glenn Michigan.
