Timothy Scott Stroud was finally able to go home and meet his Savior face to face on July 3rd, 2023. Tim was born on January 25th, 1954. He was 69 years old. Tim was born in Altus, OK to Jerry and Mary Stroud. He was the second of four children. He was preceded in death by his older brother Mark, his younger sister Celia, his parents, his first wife, Sally, and his two children, Duncan and Mattea. He is survived by his wife of 26 years,Tobi, his children, Clara Stroud, Maggie Dobbs and husband Jon, Sam Stroud and wife Paige, Jordan Demeter and wife Lindsay, Will Stroud and wife Tabi, Bethany Maltais-Demeter, Tess Andrews and husband Jason, Benton Demeter and wife Sarah, Kendrick Demeter and wife Alyssa, Amos Stroud and Greer Stroud, and his younger brother Mick. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren, Matthias, Ethan, Rush, Jewel, Cy, Cooper, Trent, Laelle, Abel, Paxton, Morgan, Jase, Cobin, Ivan, Taleia, Karalise, Strider, Mercy, Emberlyn, Eisley, Everly, Moses, Forest, Brooklyn, Elayna, Leo, Jade, Isla, and Baby girl Demeter, arriving soon.
Tim grew up in Duncan, OK, where he lived until he was a sophomore in high school when his family moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela. He lived there until he graduated high school. He then moved back to the states, to Norman OK, where he went to school at OU for a couple of years. There, he became involved with a vibrant church where he grew in the Lord and met his first wife Sally. They lived in Norman for a few years and had daughters Clara and Maggie. They then moved to Colorado where they lived for six years and had sons Sam and Will. While there, Tim was hired and started working for the Post Office. They moved back to Norman and he continued to work for the USPS. During this time they adopted their son, Amos, and a couple of years later, Sally got cancer and passed away. A little over a year later, Tim married Tobi, whose first husband had also died of cancer, and who also had five children. They proceeded to have three children, but lost two of those babies. However, their daughter, Greer, lived, giving them 11 living children. God was very gracious in combining these two families into one.
After twenty three years of working for the Post Office, Tim retired and a few years later went to work cleaning swimming pools for Spartan Pool & Patio, which is owned by two of his sons. He worked there for several years, thoroughly enjoying this work, until he had to quit because he had cancer.
Through all of this, the one constant in his life was his love for Jesus and His church. Anyone who knew Tim was captivated by his eyes and his smile, because the joy of the Lord constantly poured out through them. And now, he is safe and whole in the presence of the Lord.
We will miss him terribly, but we are so grateful for him and his life, and the time that we got to be part of it. We will always love you, Tim, Papa, Papi.
